I was reading this morning and was struck by a new passage (new to me, that is)
“Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” (James 1:16,17).
As I read this in the midst of a section addressing trials and temptation, I GOT what the deception is about: the Enemy wants me to believe that lie that sin offers good and perfect gifts, too. But sin’s version of good and perfect is counterfeit.
What a contrast between God’s light and shifting shadows.
